PONTIAC Keyless remotes and transponder chip keys

Your late model Pontiac is equipped with a Pontiac keyless entry system, which communicates exclusively with your Pontiac remote, for security purposes. To take that security a step further, your Pontiac key is a Pontiac chip key, containing an electronic chip, identifiable to your cars computer. If someone tries to drive your car with a duplicate key, your car will not start. In order to replace a missing key or purchase a second key/remote set, you will need to contact Pontiac or a vendor who specializes in programming and selling these items. Your Pontiac replacement remote will be programmed to act as the old one did, and your Pontiac replacement key should do so as well.
