Hyundais are equipped a technologically advanced Hyundai keyless entry system that is programmed specifically to respond to your Hyundai remote. In addition to this theft prevention measure, your Hyundai key has an electronic chip installed in it, and your car will not start unless if it does not detect the presence of that chip. The Hyundai chip key prevents it from being stolen using a hardware store duplicate. If you find that you do need a new key, you will need to purchase it from a vendor who specializes inn reprogramming chips; they are able to create a Hyundai replacement key for your car; they can also program a Hyundai replacement remote if needed.
