Ford Key programming

WORKS FOR: 1998 and up Ford, Linclon & Mercury Transponder Keys.

To program new keys by yourself, you must have 2 already programmed, working keys. If you only have 1 working key, programming must be done at a professional locksmith shop or the dealership!

1. Insert first existing key into the ignition cylinder.

2. Turn the key to ON position (Do NOT start the engine!). Wait until the security light turns off.

3. Turn key back to OFF and remove from ignition.  Within five seconds, insert second existing key and turn it to ON, then back OFF.

4. Insert the new key within 10 seconds. Turn to ON, leave for one second and turn back to OFF position.

5. The security light will light up for three seconds to indicate that the new key has been successfully programmed.

 

WORKS FOR: 2009 - 2010 Ford Taurus: 2009 - 2010 Linclon MKS

Ensure that the vehicle is off before beginning this procedure. Ensure that all doors are closed before beginning this procedure and that all doors remain closed throughout the procedure. Perform this procedure exactly as described below, and perform all steps within 30 seconds of starting the sequence. If any steps are performed out of sequence, stop and wait for at least one minute before starting again.
Please read and understand the entire procedure before you begin.

1. Place the new unprogrammed Intelligent Access Key in the pocket inside the glove box.

2. Press the driver or passenger power door unlock control three times.

3. Press and release the brake pedal one time.

4. Press the driver or passenger power door lock control three times.

5. Press and release the brake pedal one time. The indicator on the Start/Stop button should begin to rapidly flash, indicating that programming mode has been entered and two programmed Intelligent Access Keys have been detected in the vehicle.

6. Within one minute, press the Start/Stop button. A message will be displayed on the message center indicating that the new Intelligent Access Key was programmed. If four Intelligent Access Keys have already been programmed to your vehicle, you cannot program anymore and the message MAX # OF FOBS LEARNED will be displayed on the message center.

7. Remove from glove box pocket and press the UNLOCK or LOCK (symbols) control on the newly programmed Intelligent Access Keys to exit programming mode.

8. Verify that the remote entry functions operate (lock, unlock) and that the vehicle starts with new Intelligent Access Key.

 

WORKS FOR: 1997 Ford, Linclon & Mercury; 1998 Navigator & Expedition

Originate New Master Key

1. Put new key into ignition and turn to (ON) position. Once the security light stops flashing (approx 15 min.), you will have 5 min. to begin step 2.

2. Turn the key from (ON) to (OFF) then back to (ON). The security light will flash for another 15 min.

3. Repeat step (2).

4.The security light will turn off for the 3rd time. The key is now programmed and all previous keys will be deleted from memory.

Add Duplicate Key

1. Put working key into ignition.

2. Turn the ignition to (ON) then to (OFF).

3. Within 15 seconds, remove working key, insert new key and turn to (ON).

4. The security light will flash for 2 seconds if the key programmed successfully.
